Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Legal Counsel to join our team and oversee legal debt settlement cases. The role will be responsible for providing legal advice, reviewing case documentation, managing pre-litigation negotiations, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and supporting clients throughout the debt settlement process.
The ideal candidate should have strong legal knowledge, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely follow-up.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multiple legal debt settlement cases simultaneously, ensuring timely progress and resolution for AWH clients.
- Conduct comprehensive legal reviews of case documentation and provide clear and practical legal opinions and recommendations.
- Lead and manage pre-litigation negotiation processes with creditors and relevant parties to achieve suitable settlement outcomes.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including contracts, legal notices, settlement agreements, and other legal correspondence.
- Provide ongoing legal support and guidance to clients throughout the debt settlement process, addressing their legal queries and concerns professionally.
- Assess legal risks associated with cases and provide appropriate recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that all legal actions, case developments, and client communications are properly documented and updated in the legal system/ERP.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal and case records in line with internal procedures.
- Prepare weekly and monthly legal reports for management, including case progress, settlements, pending actions, and key challenges.
- Manage the Outlook calendar and coordinate and attend meetings, calls, and video conferences as required.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in legal recovery.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, contract review, legal documentation, and pre-litigation negotiations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Odoo or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- High attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
